The Apollo Journey

I imagine this question has many answers, even within one person. I know when I recently launched my new website and coaching services, I experienced some mixed emotions: on one hand, I felt celebratory - yet I also faced feelings of vulnerability. Quite frankly, I wanted to take a nap on the beach.

I was fully in the world of "Apollo" - which is one of the constructs I talk about in my Life Purpose work.

Apollo = Being Seen. Visibility. Approval, Applause, Appreciation. The sun lighting up the sky. As someone said recently, that "clarity and brightness of summer" vibe.

The shift to that Apollo vibe can be dramatic: it can be moving from preparation mode to stepping out on the stage - very different energies! I was reminded very clearly in my recent experience, it’s the apprehension of taking the stage that seems to hold key considerations and curiosities: will I shine in the spotlight or will they throw tomatoes?

Sure there are some folks who never think of the tomatoes (where do I buy a bottle of that?). However, I also imagine there are more of us who think about the tomatoes too much, if not exclusively - i.e. rejection or maybe worse, being ignored. Which is too bad because a whole other world of possibility is right there for us: the applause and appreciation our hearts truly long for.

So here's the rub: I believe learning how to receive goodness is an important skill to develop in concert with putting yourself "out there." Starting with taking the time to appreciate, like and love what you see in yourself first - and then cultivating an ability to receive the beautiful reflections of others. I see this as a powerful next step to wanting to be more fully who you are and letting others see and love you, too.

As you truly are.
